Santa Cookies

Santa Cookies

This makes a great homemade Christmas gift! Or, if like us, you have a sweet tooth, it also makes a hearty snack with a glass of milk.

You will need:
1 quart Ball's Mason jar
6" x 6" Fabric of your choice
12" Ribbon
Layer each ingredients in the jar:
1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 C cooking oats
1/2 C christmas M&M candies
3/4 C semisweet chocolate ships
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/3 - 1/2 C chopped peacans (or nuts of your choice)
Place the fabric on top and the tie ribbon around the lid. Add a gift tag with the baking instructions:
"Stir all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a small bowl, combine 1 slightly beaten egg, 1/2 C slightly melted butter, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Roll the cookie dough into 1 1/2 inches balls. Place on a parchment covered baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes in a 350 degrees oven. Make 2 dozen cookies."
