Crown & Crumpet Tea Salon

We are fan of afternoon tea and had to have one when we were visiting San Francisco. Crown & Crumpet Tea Salon is a modern day British afternoon tea shop located in Ghirardelli Square. The room is painted in sky blue, with a pink checker floor, and glass jars filled with candies, reminding us of children in a virtual candyland. The vibrant decor is very refreshing, far from your traditional Victorian tea salon.

The menus include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and evening. For the afternoon tea, Crown & Crumpet offers 38 types of tea, which will be brewed specifically for you, including Black, Green, White, Premium, Oolong, and Fruit and Herbal.

We had Tea-for-Two, which included two large pots of tea, eight tea sandwiches, four warm scones with clotted cream, jam & lemon curd, two crumpets with butter, and eight sweets and treats. After completing the last sip of tea, the server brought us two small bags each tied with pink ribbon--inside were white and pink sugar candy bracelets for us to bring home. A very nice final touch!

Soon after enjoying our afternoon tea, we went to the on-site Crown & Crumpet boutique. Great selection of gifts for tea and treat lovers. Variety of candle holders, cupcake candles, tea pots, cup & saucers, and farm animals kettle pots.
