Washington State Sugar Artists 2009 Cake and Confectionary Show

Our trip to Little Creek Casino in Shelton, WA for the cake and confectionary show gave us the opportunity to see and learn others' talents in creating the finest in sugar art. Contestants were judged by different divisions and categories. The show offered classes, free demonstrations and local vendors.

This was not only a cake show, but a sugar art convention that showcased handmade modeling from gum paste/pulled-blown-cast sugar:

Someone must have thought this was a bake-off!


Although we went to several demonstrations, Mari Senaga's chocolate orchids and chocolate candypaste recipe were the most fabulous!
